The Horizon cuvée crafted by Pascal Doquet is a Blanc de Blancs that is both round and fresh. It is a perfect champagne for an aperitif.
For this champagne, Pascal Doquet sources grapes from his plots in the terroirs of Bassu and Bassuet in the Sézannais. These terroirs produce Chardonnays that are fuller and more indulgent.
The wines are predominantly aged in tanks, with a small portion (12%) aged in oak, adding a touch of complexity. The Horizon cuvée blends 68% wines from the current year with 32% reserve wines from a solera started in 2012.
The Horizon cuvée has a bright golden color with lighter highlights. Its bubbles are fine, lively, and form a delicate, persistent bead.
On the nose, it reveals lovely floral notes along with a more pastry-like touch on the second nose.
On the palate, this champagne is very elegant, with a slightly creamy texture and a beautiful mineral freshness through the mid-palate.
