The Parcel:
Facing Southeast, with a gentle slope at the top and a steeper incline in the middle of the row, this parcel of Hautes-Côtes de Beaune "Sous Eguisons" is located in the commune of La Rochepot, above the Saint Aubin vineyard. Caroline Lestimé decided to plant Chardonnay in this vineyard in the early 2000s. The name "Sous Eguisons" comes from its location beneath the Eguisons rocks. Thus, the terroir is primarily limestone, and the wine produced from it beautifully reflects this minerality.
The Wine:
With a pale yellow color and subtle green reflections in its youth, the mineral nose reveals pure citrus fruits with a hint of floral notes. On the palate, the attack is crisp, dominated by fresh lemons. In the middle of the mouth, a beautiful minerality is felt, combined with subtle woody notes, while the lemon flavors remain prominent. This is a lovely fresh and concentrated white Burgundy with great precision, perfect to serve with friends on a beautiful summer afternoon.
